Freelance web application development

I am a web developer, passionate by the web and the new technologies, strong believer of what HTML5, canvas, SVG and CSS3 will bring to the web in the near future. I believe that development is part of the design and creative process, and I don't work based on PSD files but based on actual prototype of static and dynamic pages, that we tune to shape the final experience

Experience in the interactive industry

Hands-on developer with 10 years of experience in the interactive industry. My experience include front-end and back-end development as well as leading offshore teams and manage the client relationship.

What else?

I grew up in France, lived in different countries before coming to New York. I love my wife, my family, my friends, my bass and Brooklyn.

HTML5/CSS3

ALL development is done with these new technologies but would always degrade gracefully on older browsers.

Javascript/Ajax

After working with Mootools and pubishing OS plug-ins, I am now using as much native javascript as possible and switched to Jquery as my standard framework.

Ruby on Rails 3

I switched to Ruby on Rails when I tried the first beta release of the v3 and have used it every single day since then. I also have been using Heroku extensively.

Mobile

I have developed webapp for mobiles and also an Android app (Glimpsed) that was released in March 2011

Always in close contact with you

There won't be specifications in the classical sense of the term. The documentation is the code. CSS3 with ruby on rails allows to do rapid prototyping and we're talking about something concrete very early in the process.

It is now standard to have quick iteration, standup meetings and project management tool that guarantee a flawless communication in compliance with the agile methodology.

Agencies, designers would have iterations of photoshop file, powerpoint presentations or pdf specifications, I skip all that, because the new technologies allow me to produce prototype fast and also because the development gives ideas, pushing the limits of what can be done, a lot better than any other tool.

Also, it makes the whole experience so much more fun!
